BORIS’ New Song “Beyond Good And Evil” Is Their Take On The Bombing Of Hiroshima

Boris is now streaming their new single “Beyond Good And Evil.” The single explores Hiroshima, the hometown of guitarist and vocalist Wata, being bombed by the United States on August 6, 1945 at the end of World War 2. Roughly 20,000 Japanese soldiers were killed by the bomb alongside somewhere between 70,000 and 126,000 citizens.

“There is a vast magnitude in a huge mushroom cloud and in decaying ruins,” said Wata. “We feel both the sadness and beauty of these things at the same time; that is who we are. This video was made from the perspective of a mushroom cloud. The album W focuses on Wata‘s vocals – and she is from HIROSHIMA.”

AUTHOR & PUNISHER’s New Song “Maiden Star” Is Massively Sludgy

Author & Punisher is here to take you away to a far-off desert world with its new single “Maiden Star.” Or at least that’s what the song sounds like. With massive industrial percussion, floating synths, and dreamy guitars, Author & Punisher’s upcoming record Krüller is sounding pretty damn good so far.

Advertisement. Scroll to continue reading.

“‘Maiden Star’ continues the trudge of escape and survival from ‘Drone Carrying Dread,’ but with a focus on the vital interpersonal conflicts and triumphs that exist in times of war and peace,” said Author & Punisher mastermind Tristan Shone. “This track, my personal favorite from the balance of the heavy and the melodic, is deeply personal and painful at the same time. The first note both lifts me up and beats the shit out of me.”

Pre-orders for Krüller are available here.

Groom Performs Killer Original Metal Song For His Wife At Their Wedding Reception

Solo artist John Morell, who makes metal under the name SadSatan, performed a brand new song that he wrote for his wife Francesca Morell called “Till We Rot” at his wedding reception and it rules. Francesca looks thrilled, John looks like he’s having a great time, and everyone wins! It’s also nice that this tale of romance didn’t include drinking each other’s blood (that we know of).

“I knew on the night of my wedding, I would have a hard time finding the right words to explain just how much Francesca Morell means to me… So I decided to write her a song instead…

“A very special thank you to Yours Truly Media for capturing this amazing footage… & a HUGE thank you to my brotha Chad Erlitz at L.I. Nights Entertainment for diligently working with me to make this incredible moment come to life.

VIO-LENCE Streams First New Song In 29 Years “Flesh From Bone”

After about a year of teasing (and a Dead Kennedys cover), Vio-lence is back with their new single “Flesh From Bone” off the coming EP Let The World Burn.

Advertisement. Scroll to continue reading.

“This is the first Vio-lence song I had written in close to 30 years,” said guitarist Phil Demmel. “I wanted to keep some of those early Eternal Nightmare qualities intact but infuse a lot of what I’ve culled into my songwriting arsenal over the decades. ‘Flesh From Bone’ has the frenetic picking/fingering riffs and the solo trade-offs that are pretty old-school, and I’m also wearing my influences on my sleeve with a few Exodus and Slayer-inspired riffs.”

Let The World Burn was recorded by Juan Urteaga (Machine Head, Exodus), mixed by Tue Madsen (Dark Tranquillity, Heaven Shall Burn), and mastered by Ted Jensen (Alice In Chains, Death Angel). Let The World Burn is out March 4 and pre-orders are available here.

“From the dawn of time there has always been a food chain so to speak,” said guitarist Mike Valente. “Predator/victim. It’s in religion, business, and the daily grind. We just point out the obvious. As Ricky Bobby once said- If you’re not first, you’re last.”

COFFIN FEEDER (ABORTED) Unleashes Brutality With New Song “Plug It In”

Coffin Feeder is the new band featuring vocalist Sven de Caluwé (Aborted, Fetal Blood Eagle, ex-Leng Tch’e, etc.), guitarists and vocalists Jeroen Camerlynck (Fleddy Melculy) and Bart Govers (Fleddy Melculy), and bassist Jan Hallaert (Leng Tch’e). The band is now streaming their debut single “Plug It In” which is unsurprisingly heavy as shit. I mean, come on – you saw who’s in this band, right?

Advertisement. Scroll to continue reading.

“‘Plug It In’ was actually the first song ever written under the Coffin Feeder name,” said de Caluwé. “It clearly embodies the sounds of the bands we all come from. From grind to groove to a punishing breakdown, you tell us if you will PLUG IT IN! A Stereo Homicide song wouldn’t be complete without lyrics about a serial killer duo, and this one focuses on the disturbing tales of Henry Lee Lucas and Otis Toole. We’d recommend not hiking along any highways while blasting this ditty!”

Coffin Feeder will release their debut EP Stereo Homocide on January 28. The EP features drummer Olivier Coppens (Leng Tch’e), who has since left the band. Pre-orders are available here.
