Rolo Tomassi is now streaming the single “Closer” off their upcoming record Where Becomes Memory, and it’s a far cry from the band’s usual heaviness. Rolo Tomassi mixes shoegaze spaciness pop sensibilities for a track that’s listening to multiple times in a row.

“We wanted to show a completely different side to the record by releasing this single,” said keyboardist and vocalist Spence. “The album is full of lighter, more gentle moments to contrast the darker side to it and none more so than this.”

“The narrative side to the video is about the constant cycle of change,” added vocalist Eva Korman. “For better or worse, we take our past experiences us into constantly evolving new beginnings.”

Where Becomes Memory is out February 4. Pre-orders are available here. Rolo Tomassi will also hit the road shortly after the album release with Pupil Slicer and Heriot.
